Harvey Kipnis
Managing Director |
Harvey brings more than 25 years of advertising, direct marketing and digital experience to Ogilvy. He has led complex, multi-vendor national direct marketing and advertising campaigns, targeting multiple segments, using traditional and digital tactics, for a variety of Fortune 500 companies including American Express, AT&T, Allstate, TD Ameritrade, Harlequin Books, Chase Manhattan Bank, Delta Air Lines, and others. Harvey joined Ogilvy in 2003 as senior partner, director of client strategy. In this role he led several Ogilvy clients as they fielded initiatives designed to drive measurable and profitable behavior change against a variety of target audiences, including individuals, small businesses, women, and a variety of micro-segments. Harvey led DHL's acquisition and retention efforts as that brand was re-launched in the US market following a merger with Airborne: his team's efforts across acquisition, retention and cross sell, using direct mail, outbound and inbound telemarketing and the internet, generated a 22:1 return on investment. Harvey leads Ogilvy's total relationship with TD Ameritrade - including responsibility for TD Ameritrade's acquisition programs. In early 2007, Harvey was given the additional responsibility for the overall growth strategy of Ogilvy North America. Prior to joining Ogilvy, Harvey spent 11 years at Digitas, in their Boston office until 1998, and then as President of their New York office until he left the company to attend graduate school in 2001. During his early tenure at Digitas (then known as Bronner Slosberg Humphrey) Harvey managed what was then the largest and most complex direct marketing client on the planet: AT&T. In 1998, Harvey moved to New York to open a service office expressly designed to work with American Express. His teams rebuilt AmericanExpress.com; and planned and executed all of American Express' consumer acquisition, cross-sell, loyalty and retention programs. Harvey holds a B.A. in economics from Brandeis University (1977); and a M.S. in Journalism from Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism (2002). Harvey resides in South Salem, New York with his wife and four children. |
